The Mission Camp will tackle a local project this year - very local! The Mission Camp from 2002 did such a wonderful job on Koinoinia House, making an improvement to the camp that enhanced its value and usability, that we are going to tackle another important improvement for the Highlands. We are going to clean up and landscape the waterfront area. This will also be a learning opportunity for campers both, youth and adult, that will equip us for other building and landscaping projects. We will learn basic construction techniques, hand and power tool operaion, safety procedures, and the basics of reading blueprints. We will learn how to prepare soil and plant a variety of shrubs to enhance the beauty and usability of the beach. We will clean the sand and repair the dock. Of course our primary goal will be to make discoveries about our faith and our place in God's Creation. Mission Camp follows the model of the Presbyterian Youth Connection in that youth and adults work in partnership. Junior and Senior High Youth are welcome to participate. While it is not necessary, we encourage Parents to join their youth for this camp at a reduced rate (call Lynn Anderson for more information 216 241 3966 ext 24).
