DescriptionCamp Newfound was founded as a summer camp for girls from Christian Science families in 1915.
Originally located on Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, it was moved to its present site on Long Lake in 1918, after founder Elizabeth Horton purchased the scenic peninsula sight-unseen through an ad in The Christian Science Monitor. Needless to say, it was a good decision! Ninety-two years later, Newfound campers continue to be enchanted by the place they come to think of as their home away from home. They enjoy swimming and boating, walking across a sandbar to explore their own private island, and listening to the gentle sound of lapping water – all just steps away from their cabins. An idyllic backdrop to a summer full of fun, friends, and lifelong memories! You'll most likely have two counselors in your cabin, and they'll be college students who love to work and play with kids. Cabin counselors also run the different activities around camp – so you'll see them on the tennis court, teaching arts and crafts, and overseeing your swim lessons. Our counselors are good at what they do, which means they'll be able to show you how to get up on one waterski, learn an amazing dance routine, or make the most beautiful collage ever. They also happen to be really nice people. Details
