DescriptionReynoldswood provides a retreat opportunity for groups of all sizes. The 175 acres of woods and meadows gives plenty of space for serenity and relaxation. The site is located at the west edge of Dixon, 10 minutes from I-88. Year around housing is available in the Manor House and Whitney Wing. Seven rustic 3-season cabins offer air-conditioning and/or heat with a heated bathroom/shower house facility nearby.
The large, two story, stone faced Manor House was a former family estate. The eleven bedrooms vary in size and have bunk beds with 6” inner spring mattresses. It has cozy steam heat, twelve showers, eight toilets, and a large gathering area with a fireplace at each end. A group using both sides of the Manor House would have space for up to 84. It can be separated so that each half of the building sleeps 38 to 46. The gathering area would then be separated with a wall and each half has its own fireplace. An additional 20 persons can be housed in the 8 bedrooms of the attached, air conditioned Whitney Wing. Each bedroom has a double bed/single bunk combination and some also have a twin bed. A small meeting room, 4 private showers with changing areas, and 3 half baths complete the accommodations. Summer camp and retreat options include group tent camping in the Orchard or Riverfront(Pine) areas that have a pavilion adjacent to, 7 RV sites with electric/water/dump-station, ten cabins and four tree-houses scattered along the wooded trails, 7 (as stated above) of which have air-conditioning and heat. They all have bunk beds and a nearby shower house. The summer cabins and tree houses will accommodate 100+ people. The Seager Chapel offers worship/meeting space for up to 125, in addition to 1 small breakout room. Its lower level has a meeting room for up to 70 and a recreation room with carpet ball and ping-pong. Both levels have handicapped accessible restrooms. Our caring food service staff works with you to provide any special food needs for your group. The buffet-style food line offers flavorful options. Three separate dining pods can allow groups some privacy or can be opened up for large groups up to 200. The Reynoldswood mile-long Rock River Frontage offers fishing, canoeing and pontoon boating opportunities. The outdoor swimming pool is available from June through August. Other available activities include GPS adventure, hayrides, supervised archery, paved basketball court, sand volleyball court, mountain boards, cross country skiing and 7 miles of hiking trails. Teams course facilitation can be scheduled for groups wishing to develop communication and cooperation skills that build trust among the participants. By observing the problem solving opportunities the group works on, the trained leaders will debrief the members of the team and help them review the dynamics of the activity and the group. Reynoldswood Christian Camp is a ministry of the United Methodist Church where hearts, minds, and doors are always open.
