Multicultural Community Services of the Pioneer Valley is committed to providing culturally and ethnically responsive supports that enhance the capacities of individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, to maximize their quality of life as individuals and as members of the larger community.
MCS supports eight family directed projects which are referred to as parent networking groups. These are diverse groups who come together for support, information and training, and celebration. Our new initiative, given the FY10 funding reductions, is to continue the activities families enjoyed with the cooperation/networking of the families themselves. Families have overwhelming expressed the desire to continue to coming together and MCS is looking into new ways to support them.
