This summer we’re launching a whole new Camp MayMac experience – one that not only gives children a break from poverty and a chance to experience God’s creation in our beautiful 178 acre redwood camp, but also gives whole families hope and a brighter future.
This year, CityTeam will be bringing along parents as well. Our mentors will work with parents to give them a strong spiritual foundation and practical skills for raising Godly children even in the most difficult circumstances. It’s a brand new approach to helping inner-city children – by strengthening and equipping their families for the challenges ahead. The children will experience all the same fun activities of Camp MayMac but they’ll also spend quality time between classes with their parents.
Also a small portion of our summer camps will be reserved for Royal Family Kids Camps that works solely with foster care children. Royal Family Kids Camps are the nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children. These camping experiences provide a safe and secure environment for children to play and laugh while knowing that God loves them. To register or find out more about these camps, please contact them at www.rfkc.org or call 714-438-2494.
As our goal is to help the whole person in recovery, we provide tools to fill the educational gaps that so many of our clients have. Each person receives diagnostic testing and is placed in the program based on their needs. Men and women can work towards receiving their GED, learn to read or sharpen their basic skills.
The Learning Center is a place where adult students can practice living in a community, a very important aspect of long-term recovery, as well as helping each other grow both educationally and relationally.
