A big hearty hello to all of you who are part of the Camp Mark Seven community. I felt greatly honored to be asked by the Board of the Mark Deaf Foundation to come back as the Camp Director. I believe that I am highly qualified for this position as I operated the Deaf Youth programs at CM7 during the summers of 1992 to 1995 and in addition, I coordinated and supervised the Summer Bridge/JumpStart programs at Gallaudet University for the past 12 years. This four-week program offers newly enrolled deaf and hard of hearing students extra support in English and Mathematics prior to the fall semester programs, as well as those participating in the new signers program. These students also benefitted from Personal Discovery Activities. My responsibilities were to supervise classroom instructors and program staff, and manage a $400,000 budget.

As a devout Catholic, I can promote and encourage the Christian spirituality that CM7 believes in. I am looking forward to seeing and empowering all campers to grow with self confidence and experience personal growth by incorporating several wellness dimensions in the areas of social, spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual development at the camp. With my job as camp director, I will make sure that the camp offers a challenging learning experience where all of us can reap positive learning outcomes, gain appreciation of what we have and what nature can offer for us as well as respect all individual campers and the camp community.
