About Camp

Camp Ba-Yo-Ca had its beginning in 1958 as a ministry to needy underprivileged children. For over 50 years, it has provided a camping program that has extended its outreach and now operates year-round.

Year-Round Facilities

Owned and operated by the Knox County Association of Baptists, Camp Ba Yo Ca is located in Wears Valley near the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, surrounded by 325 acres of beautiful woodland. The camp serves approximately 5,000 people from churches and other Christian groups for spiritual renewal year-round. Jett Lodge, the Bunkhouses and Nelson Dining Hall can accommodate a variety of groups -- children, youth, couples, and senior adults -- for day or overnight retreats.

Summer Camp Opportunities

The purpose of the summer camping program is to provide the best in Christian teaching and atmosphere, and also to give campers the best camping experience possible . During the summer, eight weeks of camp are offered. These camping sessions include four boys’ weeks and four girls’ weeks. Approximately 900 children are in attendance during the eight weeks of summer camp, ages ranging from 7 to 17. Campers are housed in 12 cabins, two large bunkhouses, and Jett Lodge.

Campers will select from a variety of activities and classes offered during the week. Registration for Elective Classes will be conducted when you arrive at camp. Classes are grouped according to age. Each day special activities are offered in which campers can choose to participate if they meet age and/or cost requirements.
