From Highway 78/79, take Pine Hills Road turnoff 1 mile west of Julian. Drive 1 1/2 miles; bear right on Eagle Peak Road. Follow Eagle Peak Road 1 1/2 miles to the junction with Boulder Creek Road. Go left 1/4 mile. Bear right on Boulder Creek Road when it joins Pines Hills Road. Continue on Boulder Creek Road 1/2 mile to the entrance to Camp Winacka on the right. Drive in past the ranger's residence to the main parking lot. Directions are also available by calling (619) 298-8391, extension 433. Girls prone to motion sickness may need some medication for this trip.



A covered, enclosed with retractable canvas walls, lighted lodge with a fireplace, small stage, dining tables, and a full kitchen is located in the center of the camp. The lodge is available for program activity by troops, however the kitchen is not available unless there is an adult who has completed Cooks Check Out training.



There are four (4) modern lodges that will house 24-36 people each in large centrally heated brick cabins with hot showers and flush toilets. Each cabin has an inside fireplace



Oak Knoll and Meadow Vista have indoor kitchens. Mountain View and Shady Glen have four sheepherder stoves; fire ring, hot and cold-water spigots, and food storage areas are on site. Firewood is provided. Cabins are wheelchair accessible.
