DescriptionYMCA camps have a rich tradition dating back as early as 1909. Our Camps are accredited by the American Camping Association and our well-trained team makes safety the first priority. We nurture character development through the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. YMCA camps have a rich tradition dating back as early as 1909. Our Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and our well-trained team makes safety the first priority. We nurture character development through the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. YMCA Camps and Day Camps offer a huge range of activities and outdoor experiences. Campers can come home at night, try a 3-day sampler, stay in camp for a couple weeks or take a wilderness trip to the Boundary Waters or even Alaska. The YMCA raises funds annually through our Y Partners Campaign to provide scholarships and program subsidies. Funds raised through Y Partners assure that more community members facing financial hardship can access YMCA programs. YMCA Camp du Nord employs approximately 16 seasonal program staff that work during the summer months. The program staff is provided salary and room and board. The summer program staff work with children and adults to carry out the mission of YMCA Camp du Nord. Candidates for summer staff should have lifeguard training, a genuine desire to work with youth, and experience participating in an organized camp. Details
