Jeff and Carla Peterson were both born in Chicago, where Jeff’s dad was a pastor. However, they didn’t meet until almost 20 years later. Jeff attended Central Bible College, graduating in 1983. He moved to the Phoenix area and began working with Tommy Barnett at Phoenix First Assembly, where he stayed until 1992. During his tenure, he served as youth pastor, then college pastor. Carla’s family moved to Phoenix in the ‘70’s. Carla’s mom wanted her to meet the “new youth pastor” at Phoenix First Assembly. It was soon evident that Jeff and Carla were meant to be together.



In August 1992, Jeff Peterson became the Senior Pastor of Red Mountain Christian Center in Mesa, Arizona. For almost 18 years, RMCC has experienced significant growth and expansion of ministries.



Jeff’s dad, who served as district superintendent of Kansas for many years, modeled strong godly leadership qualities for his son. Jeff is active in district work and has served as sectional presbyter, member of the World and Home Missions Committees, and has participated on the American Indian College Board of Directors. He currently represents the Arizona District as General Presbyter, in addition to his pastoral ministry.



Jeff and his wife, Carla, have been married 25 years and have 3 beautiful daughters. Whitney (21), is newly married to Caleb Williams and is completing her B.A. in Interior Design from Northern Arizona University. Mikaela (19), is in her first year at the James River Leadership College. Aubrey (17), is a junior at Highland High School.
