DescriptionPresident Thomas Jefferson issued a Land Grant purchased by J. D. McCloud in 1820 for the property which is now Elkhorn Valley Camp. The old Farm House Barn was built in 1934 after a fire destroyed the Barn built in 1932 while owned by the Main Family. In 1958, the independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ purchased 160 acres from the Starn Family. These churches represent the Tri-State Area. Now comprised of 225 acres, the Camp until 1996, functioned only as a ?summer camp? for youth and adults. With the addition of the Retreat Center and the winterization of the dorms, Chapel and Dining Hall Elkhorn Valley Camp is a ?year-round? facility. Programs that have developed include the Adventures Program, the high and low ropes activities and Climbing wall which promote team building and self- esteem. Details
