Sixth grade students attend a four or five day residential school program that includes hands-on learning opportunities which incorporates the state science framework. Outdoor Education connects students to science and nature through our Outdoor School and Outreach Programs. Our Outdoor School programs at Camp Cuyamaca and Camp Fox serve approximately 12,000 students each year. We own Camp Palomar and provide maintenance and food service for San Diego City School’s OCILE 6th grade Camp Program. We are currently piloting a 5th Grade Desert Camping Program in partnership with the Anza Borrego Institute. Our Outreach Programs serve more than 56,000 students each year. Public agencies and private donors support outreach programs through sponsorships, grants, and donations. These outreach programs include Splash Science Mobile Lab, Green Machine, Marine Science Floating Lab , Recycling Education, and Salk Institute Mobile Science Lab. Details
