Description

Using our outdoor curriculum and Maine's Learning Results we can customize a program to meet your school's needs for hands-on outdoor education.Whether you are an experienced outdoors person or looking into gaining introductory skills, our workshops, trips, and courses have something to offer you.Summer camp at Bryant Pond is a unique blend of traditional camp activities, with fun and challenging outdoor and conservation education. The mission of the UMaine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond is to provide affordable, experiential education in conservation and in the development of outdoor skills, within a natural setting, for people of all ages and backgrounds. This mission supports the broader mission of the UMaine Extension 4-H Youth Development Program, to help Maine people improve their lives through education that uses research-based knowledge focused on issues, needs and aspirations

The weekly routine for most programs includes cooling swims and paddling at our beautiful waterfront, hiking, arts and woodscraft, team-building on our ropes course, learning basic survival and camping skills. Everyone looks forward to Thursday night campfire, a fun-filled evening of skits, songs, stories and laughs. Unless otherwise noted, programs are one-week (Sunday through Friday). With a few exceptions, all campers are welcome to enter any age appropriate program without prior experience. In April of 2008, the Maine Conservation School merged with the Pine Tree State 4-H Foundation and University of Maine Cooperative Extension to become the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond.
