NROC instills a lifelong love of learning in its students. This is accomplished by incorporating traditional curriculum subjects into everyday life. Each course integrates a variety of core subjects through project-based learning. While one activity may incorporate geometry, biology, and history, the next may focus on literature, politics, and music. For example, students will study biology while living on a ranch, and taking an active part in birthing new calves. Students build fences to protect riparian areas in a program that incorporates geometry, physics, and environmental policy. Ranchers face many struggles and hardships in today's ever changing society. Students will study social science, economics, and history while experiencing these struggles firsthand.
