Description


  • We are one of the only camps in the area that is licensed as a school-age child care program, which makes parents in VT and NH eligible for their state's child care financial assistance/subsidy program;

  • Bus service from ten NH and VT communities at no additional cost;

  • Full day programming (9-4, plus bussing time) so no additional costs for before- or after-camp services;

  • 45 years of history, over 10,000 area kids served;

  • Camp leadership provided by Sue Fortier, recognized within the YMCA movement as one of the best camp directors (she's on the faculty of YMCA University where she trains YMCA Camp Directors from around the country);

  • Veteran staff of highly-capable teens, young adults and adults;

  • Purposeful, structured curriculum focused on asset development, holistic well-being, social skills development (no time for just "killing time").


The summer of 2010 marks the 46th straight year that the Meeting Waters YMCA has been providing fun and educational programs for the children of the CT River Valley. Over those years nearly 10,000 children have participated in a MWYMCA summer camp program. Lewis Day Camp is located at the "meeting waters" of the Black and Connecticut Rivers on Route 5 in Springfield, VT. In addition to providing fun, educational programming and caring supervision, we provide bus transportation from Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Charlestown, Chester, Putney, Saxtons River, Springfield,  Walpole and Westminster.


Our 52 acre camp, nestled at the confluence of the Black and Connecticut Rivers, is located on

Route 5 in Springfield, VT, conveniently close to exit 7 of I-91. The camp is bordered on two sides

by the Springfield Town Forest, creating a unique, natural setting for our programs.
