PAFA's museum is internationally known for its collections of 19th- and 20th-century American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. The school holds a position of national prestige, with cutting-edge studio and classroom facilities, private studios for students, a historic cast collection, and the opportunity for students.The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts will be the recognized world leader for American fine arts education, which bringing together artists and the public, integrates a world-class collection of American art, major exhibitions and exceptional teaching programs.The closing or delayed opening of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) due to inclement weather or other emergencies will be determined by the President or in his/her absence, by the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources & Administration in coordination with the Dean of Academic Affairs. This would include the School, galleries and administrative offices.
